Last month, an elite Cartier cache was briefly in South Africa. The arrival of a selection of the French maison’s ultra-exclusive high jewellery had the country’s who’s who in a dazzle. They were ushered in for private viewings — amid swathes of blooms and fine food — to browse, be blinded by bling, and, of course, buy the spectacular specimens of craftsmanship on offer.

From diamond-engulfed manifestations of flowers to more abstract semi-precious stone clusters in lush greens, the pieces on offer all spoke to nature’s perennially inspiring beauty. And yes, true to both form and theme, Cartier’s iconic panther did make a showing.

Naturally, Wanted was on the A-list of invitees, so we thought we’d share the love with you all by specially snapping a few of the VIP beauties that we were especially gaga over. These sorts of displays happen every blue moon, so best you make sure you’re in the brand’s good books for the next time it flies these special guests in.
