Rock ’n Roll couple Kaylah Greenberg and Asher Issacs are the talent behind new Sea Point chocolate and coffee bar My Sugar. The store offers unusual and mouthwatering flavour combinations such as Miso Caramel and Hazelnut Coriander, although the Jack Daniels and Tobacco dark chocolate skulls have developed a cult following of their own. “We are rock ’n rollers – it’s part of our life and the skulls have become one of our most popular sellers,” says Greenberg. A pastry chef, Greenberg fell in love with creating chocolates and roped in Issacs.

The café serves an earthy and slightly acidic house blend that is a combination of three single-origin beans, although they also rotate a selection of single-origin coffees and loose leaf teas. The cafe also serves milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, sticky Turkish Delight and a sweet and salty pretzel bar – salty pretzels covered in soft gooey caramel and coasted in either dark or milk chocolate and sprinkled maldon sea salt.
