Stream the best of men's wear with SAMW Spring/Summer 2022

SA Menswear Week Spring/Summer 2022 will live stream on the August 20 from 7pm. The hybrid fashion week will have a limited physical component where select media, designers and influencers will be a part of the showcase. The online streams are, however, accessible to everyone.

SAMW is Africa’s only stand-alone platform dedicated to the promotion of and development of men's wear on the African continent. The 2021 show, within the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic, was the first virtual African fashion week. The 2022 week is all about collaboration. To promote recruitment, development and the success of the local fashion industry, the shows will be hosted in the We are EGG retail space in Cavendish Square.

Stand-outs from last year’s digital Spring/Summer 2021 showcase were Sergeant Pepper Clothing Company,  Iconic Black, Imprint ZA , Noa Serati, Thobey Cooper and the latest SA designers from the YDE Maze Collective, among others.

The dates are set internationally, aligning with the Men's wear Weeks of London, New York, Milan and Paris, cementing SAMW as the African platform within the global fashion calendar.Partnerships with the Cape Town Fashion Council and the City of Cape Town ensure the credibility, development and promotion of the week and designers. Continental partnerships with the Swahili Fashion Week, Lagos Fashion Week, Windhoek Fashion Week, Accra Fashion Week, Durban Fashion Fair and Africa Fashion Week London mean that SA brands can leverage their influence further afield.

The world-class and world-renowned platform will take place over a very exclusive three days, showcasing only the best of men's wear. Media, buyers and influencers began viewing the collections from August 12 and the streamlined shows will be broadcast on August 20. Participating designers and lines will soon be revealed.
