Of course, an exhibition at the Tate is a huge deal and we’re so looking forward to seeing this full showing of Muholi’s photographic and activist practice in the grand bastion of contemporary art.
It will display work from the 2000s to the present and highlight how the much-lauded local artist has challenged hetero-patriarchal ideologies and representations over the past two decades.
Muholi’s work is evocative, powerful, and brave and we should all be incredibly proud of this milestone by a South African star.
• The retrospective runs from 29 April — 18 October 2020.
