When Dolce & Gabbana presented its latest Alta Moda collection at St Mark’s Square, Venice last month it was not just a kaleidoscopic celebration of high fashion (and a celebration it was — St Mark’s Square had never hosted a fashion show before this) but also a brilliant display of high jewellery. The Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria, Alta Gioielleria, and Alta Orologeria collections of intricate rings, ornate chokers, striking bracelets, dramatic necklaces, and bejewelled timepieces are adorned with citrines, morganites, tanzanites, blue sapphires, diamonds, tourmalines, rubies, and more. Master crafting + Dolce & Gabbana = a sight to behold.
