Cushion compacts: the new kind of makeup foundation

Bottles, jars, tubs, tubes, and now cushions have become a carrier for our preferred skin tints. The cushion compact was first made famous in South Korea, in particular by the brands Laneige and Iope.

The idea? A sponge infused with the formula sits inside a compact. Using an additional sponge, you tap the light and airy product on your skin to build up coverage. This way to use a skin tint has become the next step on from product such as the beloved BB and CC creams. And, unlike a regular cover-up, cushion compacts harness the benefits of BB with a high SPF and some skincare factors, too.
