It was at an elegant soirée set on the shores of Italy’s iconic Lake Como that Cartier unveiled its equally iconic high jewellery collection, Sixième Sens, earlier this year

The French phrase “Sixième Sens” translates as sixth sense” — a fitting name for this collection of statement pieces, which have been designed to provoke vivid emotions.

Sixième Sens perfectly showcases the soulfulness of high jewellery as an expression of art that can move and inspire you like no other. You’ll be captivated by the exquisite craftsmanship of these pieces as you lose yourself in the fascinating depths of thousand-year-old precious stones they feature.

Diamonds, onyx and rock crystals create a hypnotic checkerboard pattern on the Meride necklace. While the Pixelage necklace’s combination of golden-hued gems and onyx are a stylised play on the pelt of Cartier’s famous panther — a motif which has been reimagined many ways throughout the course of the maison’s illustrious history.

The Alaxoa necklace stars a cascade of emeralds, and the Coruscant necklace, six different cuts of diamonds, each of which reflects the light from a different angle.

A selection of stones in luscious berry shades — tourmalines, coloured sapphires and garnets — lend their sparkle to the Sharkara necklace.

An exceptional 8.20-carat ruby forms the focal point of the Phaan ring, while the Parhelia ring has a 21.51-carat sapphire cabochon at its centre. This saturated blue stone has been teamed with diamonds and emeralds creating a colour scheme which, together with the ring’s unique three-finger spanning design, conjures up thoughts of a peacock proudly fanning open its tail.

Guests at the Italian premiere of the Sixième Sens collection had the opportunity to admire each of the pieces as they attended a gala dinner hosted by Cyrille Vigneron, president and CEO of Cartier.

Among the attendees were Cartier ambassadors and friends of the maison, including Mariacarla Boscono, Golshifteh Farahani, Bianca Brandolini, Yasmine Sabri, Deena Abdulaziz, Nadine Labaki, Fatima Al Banawi, Hannah Herzsprung and Sibel Kekilli.
