Essential grooming potions? All my Dermalogica face products. And everything Dove for everything else.

Favourite cologne? Salvatore Ferragamo, Uomo.

The building everyone should visit before they die? The Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, Iceland, is a wonder.

Essential tech? Anything by Apple. I am proud to admit that I am an absolute Steve Jobs fanboy. The attention to detail, the design and function of their products (all of which I own) is unparalleled.

Drink of choice? A nice brew of coffee is good, a fine glass of wine is better, a stiff glass of whisky is best.

What do you love most about Joburg? It’s the melting pot of South Africa for me. It has a restless, untamable spirit and that is vital medicine for people in the creative field.

One item of clothing you bought, instantly loved, and still have in your wardrobe years later? The very first pair of really comfortable jeans I ever bought. My tailor has seen them more times than I can count over the years, but they still make me feel great and I’m keeping them for as long as global warming will allow me.

Your dream purchase? Gerard Sekoto’s The Senegal Woman.

Reading? The Hard Thing About Hard Things by Ben Horowitz.

Listening to? Mandisi Dyantyis’ Somandla. If you haven’t heard it, please treat your ears. He is phenomenal.

Artist in your sights? Greatjoy Ndlovu is an incredible talent. And a wonderful human being as well.

Best way to spend a Sunday morning? Recovering. Just kidding. I enjoy sleeping in on Sunday mornings, or watching a series, or snuggling with a good book.

Album you’d take to a desert island? Anything by Roberta Flack.

Series you’ve been bingeing on? The Morning Show on Apple TV+ is brilliant.

Collector of anything? This may seem funny, but I am a huge fan of the Nintendo company, and the Super Mario franchise. I collect every console and Mario game they release.

Recent travel destination that knocked your socks off? Last year I was fortunate enough to visit Cartagena in Colombia. It completely blew my mind and the people were amazing.

Dream dinner party guests? Steve Jobs, Bob Marley, Tupac Shakur, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr, Greta Thunberg.

Next on your must-have list? A stamp in my passport from Japan. Everyone I know has always told me it will change my life and I believe them. Japan is the hub of so much creativity and they have made so many advances in that field. I would love to be inspired by them.

Fridge essential? Beetroot juice and bottles of water.

A great gift you were given recently? A Coravin Model Two premium wine preservation system. It’s a gadget that allows you to pour any wine, in any amount, without removing the cork.

Favourite city in the world? Barcelona. It is stunning, and I’m a sucker for Catalan cuisine.

One indulgence you would never forgo? Am I allowed to say whisky again?
