The one indulgence you would never forgo? Chocolate.

What do you do to feed your soul and revive you? A day at the racetrack clears the mind and focuses the senses.

What are your essential grooming and treatment balms, lotions, creams, and potions? My wife buys every cream available but I don’t use any of them. Creed cologne is my favourite.

Which tech gadget couldn’t you live without? All my Apple products: iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and so on.

If you had to choose, what is the single most sentimental and important object to you? The inscribed ring my wife had made for me to celebrate the birth of our twins.

What is your preferred drink? Yamazaki Japanese whisky, and a chocolate milkshake as a close second.

When you eat out, where do you go? Jamie’s Italian: home-cooked Italian food with a great vibe.

Which element of your wardrobe signifies your individual sense of style? My black Tom Ford suit — it’s slick, tailored, and means business.

What was the last object that you instantly fell in love with? A painting by Mbongeni Buthelezi from the Melrose Gallery. I like to support South African artists and this particular painting appealed to me while walking past the gallery in Melrose Arch.

A watch brand you love? A Lange & Söhne, and, of course, I do own one. They are, arguably, the finest watch makers in the world today. They are the only watch makers who assemble their watches by hand, and then disassemble the watch and reassemble it before it reaches the customer. Every watch is built twice, completely by hand.

The last place you travelled to that captured your heart? Zermatt, Switzerland. It’s so picturesque, The skiing is amazing, as well as the great culture and food.

Which books can we find on your bedside table? Bruce Lee: Beyond the Limits by Bruce Thomas.

What was the last meal that really blew you away? Kleftiko (Greek stolen lamb), made by my mother.

Which musician really appeals to you at the moment? DJ Euphonik: I really enjoy his unique style of mixing.

What’s next on your list of must-have items? A table-tennis table.

What is the first item you add to your grocery cart? Woolworths chocolate-sponge fingers.

The best gift you’ve been given recently? A thank-you card made by the kids at a children’s home I recently supported.

A gift you’ve recently bought for someone? A Tudor watch (worn by David Beckham), for a good friend who always goes out of his way for me.

Which place inspires and rejuvenates you? Switzerland. I love the watch history and culture there, and nothing beats the Alps in winter.

An event people should know about? The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, the Geneva watch fair. It showcases the finest watch brands in the world in one place for a week.

What was the last item of clothing you added to your wardrobe? Nike Air Jordans. I’m an avid basketball player and Michael Jordan fan.

Your favourite city in the world? Cape Town. I grew up there, and love the beach and the mountains.
