1. SHAKE IT UP WITH CHIVAS

Chivas Regal is shaking up the scotch whisky category with the launch of its Chivas XV — a 15-year-old blend that challenges conventions around how and when to enjoy scotch whisky. Selectively finished in grande champagne cognac casks, this is a serious whisky — best enjoyed alongside a serious celebration.

2. DO YOU LIKE YOUR WHISKEY WELL DONE?

Triple distilled and twice charred, Jameson Select Reserve Irish whiskey uses the age-old method of charring to invigorate the barrels and intensify the taste. Prepare for an intense richness and complexity on the nose and palate. Nutty notes of butterscotch and spice lead to a splendid toasted-vanilla finish.

3. BLOCK A ON THE A-LIST

Mulderbosch has released its highly anticipated Single Vineyard Series 2017 Chenin Blanc Block A, and it’s already making waves. Having won numerous awards (including best Chenin Blanc and Best White Wine Overall in this year’s Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show), it also scored an impressive 95 points in Tim Atkin’s latest Special Report. With a very limited number of bottles made, you’d best move quickly to get hold of a few.

4. A TANGY TAKE ON TANQUERAY

Introducing Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla, incorporating the essence of bittersweet seville oranges. These citrus flavours are finely balanced with the complexity of Tanqueray’s renowned London dry gin. Best served with premium tonic and a gentle squeeze of an orange wedge.

5. WHAT TO DRINK WHEN YOU’RE NOT DRINKING

Seedlip is the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirit, pioneering a new generation of no-alcohol spirits that are just as sophisticated and lip-smacking as their alcoholic counterparts. Better yet, it boasts zero calories and is sugar-, sweetener-, and artificial flavour-free too. Available in two expressions, Garden 108 and Spice 94, both are best served with tonic or as the base for martinis or sour-style non-alcoholic cocktails. (Ed’s note: these are exceptional — and stellar for summer)
