The one indulgence you would never forgo? I believe that taking care of yourself is a key factor to living your best life, and whilst some may consider it an indulgence, a monthly massage and facial is my non-negotiable indulgence for my state of mind and well-being. Life can get so crazy and busy, so I have a schedule alarm reminding me to book my appointment.

The grooming staples you are never without? In my opinion, being well-groomed is part of having good manners, and I am never without my tweezers, sunscreen, face illuminator, bronzer, moisturising lotion, fragrance, hair brush, cuticle oil and lip-gloss.

Your all-time favourite gadget? I was recently introduced to the Veet Sensitive Touch, a gorgeous gadget that fits in my bag and allows me to touch up on the go. I love to travel and now I need not worry about packing depilatory creams or razors, or scheduling what could be hair-raising hair removal in a foreign city, all I have to do is ensure I have BeautyintheBag wherever I go.

The single object you would never part with? As much as I hate to admit it, it would have to be my cellphone. I work remotely, and receive all communication via my cellular device. I am also an advocate of social media for business and pleasure, and I love that I have the world at my fingertips…literally.

Your favourite drink? I absolutely love coffee, so much so that I have a segment on my weekend breakfast radio show, The Full House, called Coffee Club. Now that summer is here, there is nothing more refreshing than enjoying a frappé in the sunshine.

The restaurant you frequent most often? My boardroom is based out of coffee shops, and a quick coffee is almost always on the cards during the week. Tashas Café is probably the restaurant I frequent the most, with Woolworths Café coming a close second.

Your personal style signifier? I believe that it’s not what you wear, but how you wear it, when it comes to style. My personal style is both dramatic and romantic, and is signified by bold colour choices, bright accessories and stilettos. I love attention to detail and wear a lot of jewellery, and I think my collection of rings, bracelets and earrings make my ensembles memorable.

The last thing you bought and loved? I love the prospect of a new year, and in my world, buying a diary is paramount to the success of said year. I recently bought a rose gold weekly planner for 2017. I am enthusiastic for the year that lies ahead, and am thrilled that I will be scheduling meetings, appointments and important dates in something stylishly sparkly.

Your favourite timepiece and why? I absolutely adore my Daniel Wellington cognac leather watch I got at Bella Luna in Hyde Park Corner. It's a simple statement piece that works with any ensemble, and keeps me stylishly on time.

An unforgettable place you’ve travelled to in the past year? I travelled to Egypt, this past month, and the land of 1000 minarets blew my mind with its beauty, colourful culture and rich history. It was a destination I wanted to tick off my bucket list, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. Other than exploring the Pyramids and the Sphinx, I got to bargain in a local bazaar, witness the age-old production of papyrus and experience a traditional patisserie in Cairo.

The book on your bedside table? I love to laugh and am such a fan of Trevor Noah, so I have his first book, Born a Crime and other stories, on my bedside table, along with a business book, The Million Dollar Blog, because the hustle never sleeps.

The last meal that truly impressed you? On a recommendation from Marble chef David Higgs, I tried out Old Town Italy in Pretoria and ordered a signature salad with beetroot, butternut, lentils, Greek yoghurt and gorgonzola. It was a visual feast and full of flavour, and I loved the overall authentic Italian experience.

The last music you downloaded? I have just downloaded James Arthur's Say you won't let go. The lyrics and composition are so beautiful — it makes me want to fall in love.

The thing you are eyeing next? For me, every day is #shoesday so it would make sense that I have my eye on a pair of rose gold Giuseppe Zanotti stilettos. They are the perfect pair to compliment any party dress this festive season, and are a pair that will last me a lifetime.

The one thing you will always find in your fridge? I absolutely adore fruit, so you will always find fresh, cut fruit. Now that watermelon is in season, my fridge is filled with pink chunks of juicy goodness for easy snacking.

The best gift you’ve given recently? I had a beautiful bespoke cheeseboard made for a very special couple that hosted us at an Eat, Drink and Be Merry festive luncheon. It’s pretty and personalised; and for a family that enjoys entertaining, should bring them endless enjoyment.

And the best one you’ve received? On the eve of the South African Style Awards, my darling friend Jay Anstey, had a champagne silk Gert-Johan Coetzee dressing gown delivered to my Hyde Park hotel room, with “Little Miss Louch” emblazoned across the back. It’s dramatic and romantic and I am absolutely in love!

The place that inspires you and why? I am always inspired by the majesty of nature, and I find that spending time in the great outdoors, especially in Cape Town, enables me to put life into perspective, with the unsurpassed beauty that encompasses me. Spending time at the ocean is awe-inspiring and humbling at the same time, reminding me that we are capable of great things, as well as how small we are in the grand scheme of life.

A recent special find or discovery? My life is busy, and so is my mind, but I recently discovered a retreat in Magaliesburg that was a personification of peace; because almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes…including you. Melody Hill Retreat is magical, meditative and good for the soul.

The last item you added to your wardrobe? I am the Kaftan Queen, and have recently added a few fabulous signature silk kaftans to my collection, just in time for December. Effortless, easy to wear and super chic, you will find me lounging poolside this summer, looking cool, calm and collected.

Favourite city and why? Such a tough decision, but I would have to say New York. The pulse of the 'city that never sleeps' inspires and drives me. This concrete jungle affirms the concept that “anything is possible”, and I love that. With a tangible energy and continuous hustle and bustle, it makes me feel more alive than ever.
