David Higgs’s new restaurant on the rooftop of the new Trumpet building in Rosebank is pure Joburg. Marble, created in partnership with Gary Kyriacou, is generous in size (it seats 250 diners); every inch of the space has been
designed and created by the best in the business (think Mervyn Gers ceramic serving platters and Naked Ape staff uniforms); and the food message is strong, simple, and delicious.
The Marble menu, designed for “flame and meat enthusiasts”, features everything that does well under fire: sort of like a steak house for grown-ups.
Design wise, the real showstopper is the outdoor balcony with a view towards the Northcliff hills — you’ll find us there for sundowners any day of the week.
