February might be the month of love, but it’s also the celebration of the Chinese New Year (February 12) — and designers are seeing red in more ways than one, keeping in theme with the Chinese zodiac’s Year of the Ox.

A symbol of hard work, strength and honesty, the sign also stands for positivity — which these designers have captured in their capsule collections.

Here are some of our favourite, must-have pieces from the collections.

BOSS

Known for their suiting and tailoring, Boss released a capsule collection to celebrate the Year of the Ox. The womenswear collection features lightweight dresses and tailored separates with an emphasis on comfort. The men's wear collection fuses Boss’s classic tailoring through loungewear, silk shirts and even reversible water-repellent jackets.

To mark the new Lunar year, Gucci has combined the celebrations for the Year of the Ox with the 50th anniversary of manga and anime character Daeremon — a cat-type robot. The Daeremon x Gucci collection features a series of items adorning the cat in both his classic blue, and playfully “disguised” as an ox, with a red colourway prominent throughout.
