Sleek, sexy, preppy and fun, checked garments were du jour on the streets of the French capital, from dresses, skirts and matching three-piece ensembles to statement capes.

Clashing and contrasting colours are nothing new, and with a cheeky take on fashion dominating the streets of Paris, it’s no surprise attendees were playing around with bold rainbow themes.

4. FLOWER POWER
In tune with the playful mood, some attendees wore daring constructions featuring floral fabric decoupage. Whether it was a feminine finish to the perfect dress, a head-turning decorative number or detail on a statement piece, flower power was having one hell of a moment.

5. OSTRICH FEATHER FRENZY
Fur is out – and it has been for a while – and attendees at Paris Fashion Week seemed to have substituted one fluffy no-no for a slightly more ethical one – ostrich feathers.

6. HERE COME THE MEN IN SKIRTS
Menswear in Paris took a bold step in the gender-fluid direction with gents opting for skirts and gowns. The more sartorial selections saw staple blazers paired with matching kilts.
