Looking to upgrade to a premium home entertainment system these holidays? Then Huawei’s MateView GT Sound Edition monitor is what you want Santa Claus to deliver for Christmas. Mind you, with its 34″ screen, it’s highly unlikely to fit down your chimney.

With its ultrawide aspect ratio of 21:9, the MateView's display provides 33% more viewing area than conventional 16:9 monitors. Its WQHD 3440 x 1440 resolution brings movies, TV shows and sports matches to life in vivid detail, while the curved design means the screen surrounds you wherever you look, creating a truly immersive entertainment experience.

With a 90% P3 colour gamut and 10-bit colour depth, the MateView can display and smoothly transition between more than a billion colours — and that’s not the only feature that allows it to rival the big screen of your local movie theatre.

It also has a high brightness of 350 nits, a high contrast ratio of 4000:1 and supports the HDR10 high dynamic range. All this adds up to a monitor that amplifies on-screen details in both bright and dark scenes, making whatever content you’re watching feel more realistic.

You can adjust the volume of the Huawei MateView GT 34″ Sound Edition's built-in sound bar with the swipe of a finger.

Beyond offering incredible picture quality, the MateView is unique in that it has a powerful sound bar built into its base.

This sound bar features dual 5W full-range speakers and a 20V high voltage power amplifier to make movie dialogue and sound effects sound clearer, more full and more realistic.

While you won’t need external speakers to enjoy a fantastic audio experience, you can easily connect some should you wish. That’s because the MateView offers a wide range of port options including a 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack, two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort and a multifunction USB Type-C port.

The stylish adjustable stand lets you adjust the height and tilt of the screen in the way you find most comfortable; the MateView can also be mounted on the wall, allowing for a true home cinema experience.

Priced at R13,999, the Huawei MateView GT 34″ Sound Edition is available at the Huawei Store online as well as Incredible Connection. You can also get it on a 36-month contract at R379 a month via Vodacom.
