In this time of crisis, we have all been reminded to not take anything for granted. Self-isolation and lockdown regulations have seen people becoming reacquainted with simple pleasures, such as puzzling, reading, board-game playing – and colouring in. It’s back to basics.

Master of shoemaking and creator of footwear art Manolo Blahnik believes drawing is essential to life – an activity close to his heart – so it should come as no surprise that he has released original sketches, stripped back to outlines, of his coveted shoes for you to colour in at home during this time. Think everything from stilettos to Oxfords.

Colouring in is believed to bring a sense of calm and mindfulness … something we’re all in desperate need of right now. The house of Manolo Blanhik says it hopes the Smile Initiative “provides inspiration and spreads positivity in this time of isolation”. Celebrate the art of colouring and share your creation on Instagram using #ManoloBlahnikSmiles.

This initiative was created in support of Manolo Blahnik’s partnership with the UK Mental Health Foundation, which provides resources for looking after mental health.
