Lalela, the NPO that uplifts at-risk youth in Johannesburg through its tailored arts programme, has just launched a leather range – and we want in! Having established an enormous fan base with clients all over the globe seeking out their limited-edition silk scarves, Lalela has expanded its product range to include leather pouches and luggage tags.
The leather pouches are digitally printed with a selection of artworks created by the children in the programme, giving each one a unique African story to tell and ultimately rewriting the narrative of poverty in our country.
Better yet, all the proceeds from every item sold go to funding the school. Locally made every step of the way, the pouches have also been designed with two-fold use – as handbags large enough to hold an iPad and as elegant clutch bags when folded up.
A versatile leather handbag that changes young lives… we like it.
